What Does That Mean on the Road?

The peak-power figures are almost identical.

The meaningful difference is torque.

The Kia has 37 Nm more torque, and importantly, its turbocharged engine delivers that peak much lower in the rev range. On paper, that should give the Stonic stronger low- and mid-range pulling power.

The Fronx takes a different approach. Its naturally aspirated engine, conventional automatic and mild-hybrid assistance are aimed more toward smooth everyday use and efficiency than outright torque.

However, CarAdvisers would not assign a real-world acceleration or fuel-economy winner without a controlled back-to-back road test. Local traffic, temperature, fuel quality, driving style and AC use can materially change results.

Transmission: 7-Speed DCT vs 6-Speed Automatic

This difference deserves more attention than it normally gets.

The Stonic’s 7-speed DCT can provide faster, more direct gear changes and works well with the turbocharged engine’s torque characteristics.

The Fronx uses a conventional 6-speed automatic, which may appeal to buyers prioritising straightforward urban operation.

Neither design should automatically be labelled better or more reliable simply because of the transmission type.

For the Kia, buyers should pay particular attention to low-speed DCT behaviour in crawling traffic during a test drive. For the Suzuki, buyers should assess kickdown response and how effectively the mild-hybrid system assists in normal city driving.

The Stonic also provides Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes, something Kia officially lists for both new variants.

Size and Practicality: Stonic Is Longer, Fronx Is Taller

The Kia is the larger vehicle in some of the dimensions that matter most for cabin and luggage packaging.

The Stonic measures 4,165 mm long, compared with the Fronx at 3,995 mm, giving the Kia a 170 mm advantage in overall length.

Its 2,580 mm wheelbase is also 60 mm longer than the Fronx’s 2,520 mm wheelbase. The Fronx is marginally wider at 1,765 mm versus 1,760 mm and taller at 1,550 mm versus the Stonic’s 1,520 mm.

Ground Clearance

For Pakistan, this is an important difference.

The Stonic Turbo S officially provides 183 mm of ground clearance. PakWheels lists the Fronx at 170 mm, giving the Kia an approximately 13 mm advantage.

That can matter over aggressive speed breakers, broken roads and uneven entrances.

Boot Space

The Stonic also offers a larger luggage compartment:

Stonic: 352 litres
Fronx: 304 litres

Kia lists up to 1,155 litres with its rear seats folded, while Suzuki’s brochure lists 605 litres using its VDA measurement with the rear seatbacks folded and 1,009 litres maximum volume. Because manufacturers may quote luggage capacity using different methods, the basic seats-up figure is the cleaner direct comparison.

Suggested image: Side-profile dimension comparison showing both vehicles at equal scale.

Safety: Fronx ADAS Has the Clear Technology Advantage

Both vehicles provide a solid basic safety foundation.

The Kia Stonic Turbo S officially includes:

Six airbags
ABS
Electronic Stability Control
Hill-Start Assist Control
Multi-Collision Brake
ISOFIX anchors

Kia also lists front and rear parking sensors, rear camera and indirect tyre-pressure monitoring.

The Fronx ADAS goes considerably further.

Suzuki officially lists:

Six airbags
ABS/EBD
ESP
Hill Hold Control
Autonomous Emergency Braking
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keeping Assist
Lane Departure Prevention
Blind Spot Warning
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
High Beam Assist
Driver/Stagger Warning
Adaptive Cruise Control
360-degree Around View Monitor
Head-Up Display

These are not inferred features—the current Suzuki Pakistan product page specifically lists them for the GLX 6AT Hybrid ADAS. Suzuki Pakistan

For buyers who specifically want active driver assistance, this is the strongest reason to pay more for the Fronx.

Adaptive Cruise Control Is a Major Difference

The Stonic Turbo S gets conventional cruise control with Manual Speed Limit Assist.

The Fronx ADAS adds Adaptive Cruise Control with a stop function of up to two seconds, according to Suzuki’s local specification table.

That is a meaningful hardware and software upgrade rather than a cosmetic feature.

The Fronx also combines adaptive cruise with forward emergency braking and lane assistance, giving it a much more complete driver-assistance package.

Drivers should still remember that ADAS systems assist rather than replace attentive driving.

Interior and Infotainment

The Stonic Turbo S uses an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and six speakers. It also gets a 4.2-inch TFT instrument display, cloth/artificial-leather upholstery, an electrochromic rear-view mirror and a two-tone black-and-grey cabin.

The Fronx ADAS has a 9-inch display, four speakers plus two tweeters, synthetic-leather seats, automatic single-zone air-conditioning and rear AC vents.

Both therefore have useful strengths.

Stonic Cabin Advantages

The Kia offers:

Power tilt-and-slide sunroof
Electric parking brake
Auto Hold
Front and rear parking sensors
Electrochromic mirror
17-inch wheels
Premium two-tone upholstery treatment

Fronx Cabin and Tech Advantages

The Suzuki counters with:

Larger 9-inch infotainment display
Rear AC vents
360-degree camera
Head-Up Display
Paddle shifters
Adaptive cruise control
Tilt and telescopic steering
Synthetic-leather upholstery

Suggested image: Side-by-side dashboard and infotainment comparison.

Sunroof vs ADAS: What Matters More?

This is perhaps the simplest way to understand the personality difference.

The Stonic gives buyers more visible premium equipment, including its power sunroof, 17-inch wheels and higher-spec interior.

The Fronx puts more of its extra cost into functional technology, particularly the ADAS suite, HUD and surround-view camera.

A buyer who rarely drives on motorways or does not particularly value ADAS may find the Stonic’s lower price and stronger torque more appealing.

A buyer who regularly drives long distances, deals with crowded parking environments or specifically wants blind-spot and lane-assistance functions may derive more everyday value from the Fronx.

Fuel Economy: Do Not Judge Only by Engine Size

It would be tempting to assume that the 1.0-litre Stonic automatically uses less fuel because it has the smaller engine.

That would be too simplistic.

The Stonic is turbocharged and uses direct injection, while the Fronx combines a larger naturally aspirated engine with Suzuki’s 12V mild-hybrid system and idle-stop functionality.

Real fuel economy will depend heavily on traffic, AC use, road speed, boost demand and driving style.

Until comparable Pakistan-market road tests are available for both current variants, CarAdvisers recommends treating unofficial fuel-average claims cautiously.

Warranty and Ownership

Kia Pakistan provides a 4-year/100,000 km basic vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.

Suzuki provides 3 years/60,000 km vehicle coverage for the Fronx. Importantly for the hybrid variant, Suzuki separately covers the hybrid components for 5 years/100,000 km.

Suzuki also highlights its broad national service network, an important consideration for buyers outside Pakistan’s largest cities.

From an ownership-complexity perspective, the Stonic combines a turbocharged direct-injection engine with a DCT, while the Fronx uses a naturally aspirated engine and conventional automatic but adds mild-hybrid hardware.

Neither should be judged solely from that description. Service history, correct fluids, genuine parts and adherence to maintenance intervals matter more than assumptions about a particular technology.

Resale: Too Early for a Definitive Verdict

Suzuki has historically had a strong presence in Pakistan, but the Fronx itself is still a relatively new locally produced model, having gone on sale in May 2026. Global Suzuki confirms that Pakistan became the third production base for Fronx after India and Indonesia.

The new turbocharged Stonic is also substantially different from the outgoing 1.4-litre model.

That means old Stonic resale data and traditional Suzuki resale assumptions should not be treated as guarantees for these specific variants.

The market needs time to establish used prices for both.

CarAdvisers Insight

At PKR 5.899 million, the Stonic Turbo S changes this comparison considerably.

Before its new price was known, the Fronx could be judged mainly against the Stonic on equipment and powertrain differences. At the current figures, there is now almost a PKR 0.9 million price gap between the Stonic Turbo S and the Fronx GLX Hybrid ADAS.

The Kia gives you:

more torque + longer wheelbase + more ground clearance + larger boot + larger tank + sunroof + lower purchase price.

The Suzuki’s case rests primarily on:

ADAS + adaptive cruise + 360 camera + HUD + rear AC vents + mild-hybrid system + Suzuki ownership ecosystem.

That makes this less of a simple specification battle and more of a question of what the buyer is willing to pay for advanced safety technology.

Which Buyer Should Choose the Kia Stonic Turbo S?

The Stonic Turbo S deserves serious consideration if you prioritise:

Lower upfront price
Stronger torque
Turbocharged performance
Larger boot
Higher ground clearance
Longer wheelbase
Sunroof
Electric parking brake and Auto Hold
Four-year/100,000 km warranty

Its main unanswered questions are real-world fuel economy, long-term DCT behaviour in Pakistani traffic and resale performance of the new turbo version.

Which Buyer Should Choose the Suzuki Fronx GLX Hybrid ADAS?

The Fronx ADAS makes more sense if you prioritise:

Comprehensive ADAS
Adaptive cruise control
Autonomous emergency braking
Blind-spot warning
Lane-assistance features
360-degree camera
Head-Up Display
Rear AC vents
Mild-hybrid system
Conventional 6-speed automatic
Strong Suzuki service coverage

The biggest hurdle is price. At nearly PKR 6.8 million, buyers need to decide whether the technology package justifies paying approximately PKR 0.9 million more than the Stonic Turbo S.

What About the Regular Fronx GLX Hybrid?

This may actually be the most interesting third option.

Suzuki officially lists the regular GLX 6AT Hybrid at PKR 6,399,999 in mono-tone form, while the ADAS version costs PKR 6,799,999. That means the ADAS upgrade itself costs PKR 400,000.

Buyers who want the Fronx’s mild-hybrid drivetrain but do not consider ADAS essential could save that amount by choosing the regular GLX Hybrid.

Conversely, if you are already spending PKR 6.4 million, an additional PKR 400,000 for AEB, blind-spot monitoring, lane assistance, adaptive cruise, HUD and 360 camera may be easier to justify than the full price difference versus the Stonic.

Final Verdict

There is no single answer for every buyer.

The Kia Stonic Turbo S offers the stronger price-to-performance proposition: more torque, a larger boot, longer wheelbase, greater ground clearance and premium features while costing nearly PKR 0.9 million less.

The Suzuki Fronx GLX Hybrid ADAS is the technology-led option. Its strongest advantage is not horsepower—it is the combination of ADAS, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera, HUD and mild-hybrid hardware.

For buyers focused on purchase price, turbo torque and practical packaging, the Stonic Turbo S deserves close attention.

For buyers willing to pay extra for active safety and driver-assistance technology, the Fronx GLX Hybrid ADAS provides equipment the Stonic does not currently match.

Before deciding, test-drive both. A specification sheet cannot tell you whether you will prefer the Stonic’s DCT response, Fronx’s conventional automatic, seating position, ride quality or cabin comfort.

Kia’s current Pakistan specification lists six airbags, ESC, HAC and Multi-Collision Brake, but not a comprehensive ADAS package like the Fronx.

What ADAS features does the Suzuki Fronx have?

The Fronx GLX Hybrid ADAS includes AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and high-beam assist, along with a 360-degree camera and HUD.
