Modern Exterior and Stronger Body Construction

The first thing that separates the KP1 from a conventional Pakistani rickshaw is its design. Rather than relying on the familiar basic three-wheeler shape, the KP1 takes inspiration from modern international tuk-tuk models.

The body uses proper sheet metal construction, with the chassis, panels and other components pressed, welded and assembled locally using modern manufacturing methods.

One of the key production features is Laldin Motors’ Electro Deposition, commonly known as ED, coating process. The company says this process is designed to provide better corrosion protection before the final paint is applied, helping improve long-term durability.

The lighting setup has also received a significant upgrade. The KP1 gets LED headlights with integrated parking lights, along with LED rear lights that give the vehicle a more modern appearance.

Another interesting feature is the removable outer roof covering. While the main safety structure and roll cage remain fixed, the outer fabric portion can be removed when an open-air setup is preferred.

Exterior Highlights

Feature	Details
Body Construction	Full sheet metal body
Chassis	Locally pressed, welded, and assembled
Corrosion Protection	ED coating process
Front Lighting	LED headlights with parking lights
Rear Lighting	LED taillights
Roof	Removable outer fabric covering
Design Inspiration	Modern international tuk tuk styling

According to a Laldin Motors representative, the use of ED coating is intended to provide long-term resistance against rust, with a claimed structural life of around 8 to 10 years under appropriate conditions.

Independent Rear Suspension Changes the Ride

Perhaps the biggest mechanical departure from a traditional rickshaw is underneath the KP1.

Conventional three-wheelers generally use a basic rear suspension arrangement with rigid components and leaf springs, often resulting in a firm and uncomfortable ride over broken roads. The Laldin KP1 instead uses independent rear suspension.

The setup features coilover shocks and a sway bar, with the drive system connected through drive shafts. This layout is intended to offer a more controlled and car-like ride while improving the way the rickshaw handles uneven surfaces.

For a market where daily commuting often involves potholes, rough roads, and heavy urban traffic, the suspension design could be one of the KP1’s most important upgrades.

Three-Wheel Disc Brakes and Reverse Camera

Safety equipment is another area where the KP1 moves beyond the usual rickshaw formula.

The vehicle is equipped with disc brakes on all three wheels. It also uses a Combined Braking System, or CBS, operated through a single foot pedal. The system is designed to distribute braking force across the wheels and help provide more balanced braking.

The KP1 also gets a factory-fitted reverse camera mounted at the rear. For drivers operating in tight streets, markets, and crowded parking areas, the camera can make reversing significantly easier by improving rear visibility.

Safety and Chassis Features

Feature	KP1 Specification
Front Brake	Disc
Rear Brake	Disc
Total Brakes	3 Wheel Disc Brakes
Braking System	Combined Braking System
Rear Suspension	Independent
Shock Absorbers	Coilover
Sway Bar	Yes
Reverse Camera	Factory fitted
Safety Structure	Fixed roll cage

The combination of three-wheel disc brakes, CBS, and a reverse camera gives the Laldin KP1 a technology package that is unusual for the traditional Pakistani rickshaw market.

A More Comfortable and Practical Cabin

Laldin has also focused heavily on the cabin experience.

Traditional rickshaw seating can be basic, with thin cushioning and limited back support. The KP1 takes a more passenger car-inspired approach with deeper cushioning and a reclined rear backrest designed to provide better support over longer journeys.

The driver gets a larger bench seat with a higher backrest as well, which can be especially useful for those spending several hours behind the wheel every day.

Technology is another major difference.

The KP1 uses a fully digital instrument cluster instead of traditional analog gauges. The display provides key information such as vehicle speed, engine RPM, fuel level, and engine temperature.

There are also USB connectivity options and dedicated charging ports for mobile devices. An automatic front windshield wiper adds another layer of convenience, while a manual fan switch can help the driver manage cabin airflow during traffic jams.

Cabin and Convenience Features

Feature	Availability
Instrument Cluster	Fully digital
Speed Display	Digital
RPM Display	Digital
Fuel Gauge	Digital
Engine Temperature	Digital
Passenger Seating	Cushioned rear bench
Driver Seating	High back bench
Mobile Charging	Yes
USB Connectivity	Yes
Front Wiper	Automatic
Manual Fan Switch	Yes

These additions make the KP1 feel less like a basic commercial three-wheeler and more like a modern urban mobility vehicle.

200cc Water-Cooled Engine and 5 Speed Gearbox

Powering the Laldin KP1 is a 200cc water-cooled engine. Unlike the air-cooled setups commonly associated with smaller rickshaws, the KP1 uses a liquid-cooled radiator system for temperature management.

The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and includes a dedicated reverse gear.

The combination of a larger engine, water cooling, and a five-speed gearbox should give the KP1 a noticeably different character compared with smaller city rickshaws, particularly when carrying passengers or dealing with longer routes.

How Different Is the KP1 from a Traditional Rickshaw?

The biggest change is that Laldin is not simply updating the appearance of a conventional rickshaw. The company has reworked several important areas, including the suspension, braking system, interior and electronics.

A digital cockpit, reverse camera and USB charging may improve day-to-day convenience, while independent rear suspension and three-wheel disc brakes could have a more direct impact on the driving experience.

That combination makes the Laldin KP1 200cc an interesting entry in Pakistan’s evolving three-wheeler market, particularly as buyers increasingly look for better safety, comfort and practicality.
