Pajero Returns After Five Years

The Pajero was discontinued in overseas markets in 2021. Mitsubishi says the new model will mark its return to the global market, reviving a nameplate with more than four decades of history. The previous four generations collectively recorded more than 3.25 million sales across over 170 countries and regions.

The Pajero also has a strong motorsport heritage, with Mitsubishi recording 12 Dakar Rally victories, including seven consecutive wins.

CarAdvisers Insight

For Pakistani SUV buyers, the new Pajero will be an interesting model to watch, particularly because Mitsubishi is positioning it as a genuine cross-country SUV rather than simply a road-focused crossover. Its Triton-derived ladder frame, S-AWC system and off-road technology could make it a serious contender in the international 4x4 market.

However, Mitsubishi has not yet confirmed Pakistan launch plans, local pricing or specifications. Those details will need to be confirmed separately.

The world premiere is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
